Marshmallow Leaf

on

Marshmallow Leaf is a natural source of beta-carotene, amino acids, minerals and vitamins. Althea officinalis also contains large amounts of vitamin A, calcium, zinc and significant amounts of iron, sodium, iodine and B-complex vitamins. Often used traditionally as an aid to digestion and to line the mucous membranes. Marshmallow forms a protective layer on the skin and lining of the digestive tract. It also contains chemicals that might decrease cough and help heal wounds by decreasing inflammation and fighting certain “bugs”.

I personally like to mix marshmallow leaf with my Earl Grey Green Tea for extra flavour. You can drink it on it’s own, or mix with any tea. I tend to make the tea and let it cool and then add to my green smoothies along with my kale powder and nettle tea. Try this recipe for a base.
